About the Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. This role utilizes the nursing process, technology, therapeutic interventions, and evidence-based practices to deliver high-quality care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Nurse Residency Program
  • Designed for new graduate RNs (less than one year of experience)
  • Paid clinical hours, webinars, simulations, and case studies
  • Weekly in-person meetings (monthly after 6 months)
  • Support from experienced nurse mentors
Location & Community
  • Based at St. James Hospital in Butte, Montana
  • Hospital features 98 beds, Level III Trauma Center, and Level II NICU
  • Serves a seven-county region with a strong sense of community
  • Butte offers affordable living, outdoor recreation, and rich cultural history
Responsibilities
  • Assess and address patients’ psychological and physical needs
  • Foster quality care for patients and families
  • Communicate compassionately and effectively
  • Develop individualized treatment plans
  • Oversee care delivered by LPNs and CNAs
  • Participate in clinical team conferences
  • Comply with hospital and regulatory guidelines
Qualifications
  • BSN degree required within 4 years (with exceptions for prior hires)
  • Current State of Montana RN license
  • BLS certification upon hire
  • Additional certifications required for specialty areas (ICU/ED, Oncology, etc.)
Physical & Professional Requirements
  • Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Manual dexterity and ability to lift and transport patients and equipment
  • Regular on-site attendance required
Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly pay range: $33.38 - $79.73
  • Full-time (36 hours/week), night shift
