Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform cleaning duties as directed by the Environmental Services Director, following department policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to daily and deep cleaning schedules.
  • Maintain high standards of personal presentation and hygiene.
  • Use cleaning equipment safely and report defects.
  • Respect residents’ privacy and individual needs.
  • Follow infection control and PPE policies.
  • Complete necessary documentation daily.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
  • Dust furniture, equipment, and floors; clean fixtures in rooms and bathrooms.
  • Operate vacuums, floor cleaners, buffers, and shampooers.
  • Wet-mop rooms, halls, and other areas; shampoo rugs and furniture.
  • Clean vents, fan fixtures, windows, and high surfaces.
  • Dispose of trash and waste materials properly.
  • Move furniture and heavy objects as needed.
  • Perform terminal cleaning of resident rooms and prepare for new admissions.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms thoroughly.
  • Prepare and deliver supply packs and linen to departments.
  • Keep work areas neat and orderly.
Additional Tasks
  • Treat all residents with dignity and respect.
  • Adhere to facility policies, business conduct standards, and regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of health information.
  • Report noncompliance, injuries, exposures, and allegations of abuse.
  • Participate in safety and emergency drills.
  • Complete all required training and skills competency.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Previous long-term care experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks and respond to emergencies.
  • Good communication skills and adaptability.
